State Grid Invests Over 600 Billion for the First Time in 2024
In 2024, State Grid’s investment exceeded 600 billion yuan for the first time, completing and putting into operation three ultra-high voltage projects. In total, 38 ultra-high voltage projects, including “22 AC and 16 DC” projects, have been completed. Additionally, throughout the year, 43,800 kilometers of 110-kilovolt and above transmission lines were put into operation. The three ultra-high voltage projects include the Sichuan-Chongqing 1000-kilovolt ultra-high voltage AC project, the Wuhan-Nanchang 1000-kilovolt ultra-high voltage AC project, and the Zhangbei-Shengli 1000-kilovolt ultra-high voltage transmission AC project. Moreover, construction has started on three additional ultra-high voltage projects: the Shaanbei-Anhui ±800-kilovolt ultra-high voltage DC transmission project, the Gansu-Zhejiang ±800-kilovolt ultra-high voltage DC transmission project, and the Sichuan-Chongqing 1000-kilovolt ultra-high voltage project. According to previous reports, State Grid expects its investment to surpass 650 billion yuan for the first time in 2025. It also plans to start construction on key projects such as the Shaanxi to Henan ultra-high voltage project, as well as the Shandong Zaozhuang and Zhejiang Tonglu pumped storage power stations, among others.
